Acacia Ridge Baptist Church began its journey in February 1966. Its establishment was a decision of the Home Mission Department of the Baptist Union under the auspices of Vic Bowring, and was largely funded by them. Three families from Salisbury Baptist Church were the founding members, Ian and Emily Campbell, Mr and Mrs Cavanagh, and Mr and Mrs Dieckmann.

The current church building was opened on the 17th of September 1966, and constituted as the 106th Baptist Church of the Baptist Union of Queensland on the 12th of February 1967.

The church was the first pastorate of a young Bible College student named Stan Solomon, supported by his wife Nell and their children. Initially the church met in a Girl Guide Hall and a tent was setup for Sunday School classes. 

In September 2016, we celebrated 50 years of our church ministering to the local community at Acacia Ridge. An official event was held to mark the occasion and almost all of the original pastors who had led the church over the years were able to attend and/or contribute their stories to a memorial booklet. The booklet is available for download below in PDF format, and gives a broad overview of some of the highs and lows of the church and its ministry to the community over the years. 

We continue to believe that the Lord Jesus will use our church in the future, as He has in the past. We pray that our ministry in the area will bring glory and honour to His Name, and that Acacia Ridge Baptist Church will be a place where many are discipled. Through this body of Christ-followers, we hope to see many more come to a true, saving knowledge of the Lord and His finished work on the cross.
